Welcome to the first devlog of 'Sticky Plague'! I’m Goomyth, a passionate developer with a love for all things gooey. Let’s dive into the slimy world of my first game.

Sticky Plague is a action game featuring gooey actions of a black goo spreading their gooey empire.  Current version only has a single "absorb" action. But hopefully I can add them soonish enough. (Let me know if you want to have anything!)

Although this is my first game released on itch.io. This is an abomination of my previous attempts to make a video game in Unity. I've done making small games in my spare time in the past, but they never get released. The reason? you guessed it! Too hard! Making levels/arts/sounds/vfxs are tough and time consuming! 

So in this game, I'm going to employ procedural generation as much as possible to boost development effort of one brain (and 10 dexterity limited tentacles) so hopefully adding new elements will get faster along the way.

Anyways, here is the update from last version!

Added:

  • Procedurally generated level (Currently seed is fixed. But will be random when other features are done!)
  • HUD to show resistance of absorption and absorption progress on enemies


For next update, I'm planning to add one of the following features:

  • Covers/Obstacles on the map to hide from enemies
  • Hills on the map for making more interesting situations (like looking down enemies)
  • Convert enemies into helping minions (i.e, shoot other enemies with goo to slow them down)
